The MHS Solo & Ensemble Festival allows students to perform solos & ensembles for judges who are musicians in the Madison Symphony Orchestra and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.

After each performance, students receive 15 minutes of private instruction from their judge! Participation in this unique experience is highly encouraged!

Reminders: 

• You should dress up a little - for example, a dress shirt and nice pants. Neckties and high heels are not recommended unless you have practiced playing your instrument in them.

​

• At the MHS Solo & Ensemble on January 27, the school will provide a judge's copy as long as the band department owns a copy of the piece you're playing.
