1. Last Call for State Solo & Ensemble Registration

     - Symphonic Winds, Chamber Winds, & Senior Recognition

  • 7:30p Wednesday, May 7: Band Concert

     - Cardinal Band, Concert Band, & Chamber Winds

  • 8:00a-1:00p Monday, May 28: Memorial Day Observances

     - All band students.  (Please do your best to make it, but there is a make-up available if you can't attend.)

3.  No Summer Camp This Year: For the past few years (since COVID), the MHS bands have run a weeklong summer band camp after school lets out in June.  Unfortunately, we aren't offering the summer band camp this year - but check your calendars for marching band camp in August!

If you need more music in your life this summer, here are some camps we would recommend you check out!  Some are more serious and may even require an audition; some are more exploratory and mostly for fun.

4. Fine Arts Week Wrap-Up

This week was Fine Arts week at Middleton High School.  Many band students and ensembles performed throughout the week, including the jazz ensembles, trombone choir, saxophone ensemble, and many others.  Congratulations to all performers!

5. Greece Send-Off

The band leaves today for Greece!  We will be doing several school exchanges and community concerts, along with a healthy dose of sight-seeing.  Wish us luck, and for those with other plans: have a great spring break!

Dear MHS band students,

If you participated in the WSMA District Solo & Ensemble Festival and earned a 1* rating for a Class A event, you are eligible to perform that event at the WSMA State Solo & Ensemble Festival on April 26 at UW-Platteville .

There is a tight turnaround for registration, which is due THIS WEDNESDAY, March 19.  You can register here (also posted in Google Classroom).  This event is optional, and there is no obligation to register even if you have a qualifying event.

Dear Band & Orchestra Families,

I am reaching out to the MHS Band & Orchestra community to find a volunteer for the Program Ads Chair position. This is a great way to support the Band & Orchestra Boosters and help raise money!

This position typically starts in June and ends in October.

Responsibilities include:

  • Business Ads: Reach out to local businesses, solicit ads, follow up on payments, and ensure ads are ready for printing.

  • Student Shout-Outs: Encourage families to purchase Student Shout-Outs, collect information (name, grad date, instrument, message from family) and photos, design each image, and submit the images for the program book.

  • Work with the Program Coordination: Work with the print layout coordinator to ensure all ads and shout-outs are accurate and on time.

No prior experience is necessary! You just need the time and enthusiasm to make it happen! This is a great way to get involved and support the students.

If you're interested or have any questions, please email MHSBOPAwebsite@gmail.com.

Thank you for considering!
