Hello Everyone, Please see below for important upcoming events and information! No Jazz 2/20 Enjoy your long weekend! Pep Band 2/23 Cancelled An event was rescheduled from a previous basketball game due to snow, so we will cancel our attendance. If you signed up already, you'll receive credit. We will also extend the pep band make ups until March 2nd. Thank you for understanding. Any questions please see Mr. Rothacker Puerto Rico Rehearsals Specific trip details are estimated this week. Rehearsals for those attending the trip are 3/6 (during ASR), 3/9 (during ASR), and 3/19 (6-9pm in the PAC). It is critical that students attend these rehearsals so we have a great performance! Music was handed out several months back, but if you don't have that music (Benediction, American River Songs, and Earthdance) please see Mr. Rothacker Large Group Festival We will be hosting our Large group festival at the high school again this year on March 16th! The entire event takes place during the school day and students will be called out. Concert Band and Symphonic Winds called out: 8:25am-11:30am Cardinal Band and Chamber Winds called out: 11:30am-3:44pm Students will be judged and receive a clinic with Glenn Hayes (UW- Whitewater) and Scott Teeple (UW Madison) and will receive additional clinics leading up to the event. State Solo & Ensemble Congrats to everyone that performed last weekend at District Solo & Ensemble! If you received a 1* you are eligible for State Solo & Ensemble on April 29th. Registration will be coming out soon via WSMA.

Click above for the schedule! Try to arrive at school at least 30-40 minutes before your performance (or come for the whole day and watch your friends!).

Click above for the backing tracks. Remember: if you are playing with a recording, you need to bring a device with a headphone jack to play it. Your school chromebook is ideal. If you use a phone, make sure it has a standard 1/8" headphone port or adapter.

3. Dress Code

Plan to dress up a little for your performance. Do not wear anything that makes you uncomfortable (neckties, high heels, etc) unless you have practiced playing in it.

4. Warm Ups

The band room will be open all day on Saturday to warm up. Do not overpractice the day of the performance; this will just tire out your embouchure. Do a short warm-up (things like long tones, lip slurs, scales), check any tricky spots in your music, and then go for it!

5. Volunteers

We still could use additional help with door monitors and set up/ tear down for solo and ensemble this Saturday. Attached HERE is a list of current volunteer assignments (adults and students). If you would like to volunteer or volunteer your child please email dbrown1@mcpasd.k12.wi.us
