February 14, 2020 - Band Updates

1. Medical Forms DUE TODAY

Today was the hard deadline for medical forms for Minneapolis or Jazz trips.  Questions?  Contact Mr. Rothacker or our school nurse Ms. Megan Westphal.  (mwestphal@mcpasd.k12.wi.us)

2. Solo & Ensemble Volunteers

All hands on deck for our district solo and ensemble festival next Saturday!  It takes a lot of volunteers to run a festival of our size, so please sign up for a shift or two.

3. Solo & Ensemble Schedule

The first published draft of the schedule is now posted on the BOPA website.  This is not finalized, but it's pretty close.  See Mr. V or Mr. Kurr with any questions.

4. Solo & Ensemble Reminder

- Class A solos: don't forget that you need to procure an original copy of your solo to give the judge.  You will also need to number each measure so the judge can provide notes on your performance.  Class B/C solos and ensembles may use a school copy, as long as you got the music from the school in the first place.

5. Pep Band

Pep band season is ending soon.  Check the calendar to make sure you attend four games!

6. FeePay Posted

Feepay for Minneapolis is posted, and I was told that Solo/Ensemble Feepay should have been posted today.  (Unconfirmed, so please don't email if you can't find it!)  Remember that both will show up under "Fees" -- NOT "Activities."

February 10, 2020 - Senior Posters

Hello seniors and senior parents- Today is the last day to order a senior poster/pen.  (see below) === Dear Families of Band Seniors, In a few short months, our Seniors will be graduating and heading off to new adventures.  The Senior Legacy Pen and Poster Set includes:   One Poster of the Band Seniors  2 Deluxe, engraved ballpoint pens.   Cost: $15.00 per set  The Senior Legacy Pen & Poster Set is a great memento for family friends, and your Senior to remember their days in Band.  Please check the website for Senior Legacy information and to order.  Please place all orders by February 10, 2020 The sets will be sent home with your student.  Any questions, please contact Lisa Downs -  MHSJazzCabaret@gmail.com Thank you.

February 4, 2020 - Band Updates

1.  Minneapolis Trip FeePay (Finally) Posted The Minneapolis trip is posted on FeePay (under "Fees").  Please log on and complete it at your earliest convenience.  Permission and medical forms should have been turned in last week, so please get them in ASAP. 2.  Solo/Ensemble Reminders - Remember that class A solos must provide your own published judge's copy. The school will provide judge's copies for ensembles and for Class B/C solos (provided you got the music from us in the first place). - Accompanists are coming as early as Thursday!  Check the schedule in the band room, and bring your piano part (class A only). - Registration fees are not on FeePay yet but will hopefully be posted soon. - Performance schedule will be available early next week. 3.  Parent-Teacher Conferences If you are interested in an individual conference on either February 27th or March 4th, please reach out to one of the band teachers.  We especially encourage a conference for sophomores and juniors who are considering collegiate study in music. 4.  Pep Band Don't forget that each student needs to attend a total of four games for the 2019-20 pep band season.  There are six games left.  All make-ups must be completed before spring break, so don't delay! https://www.middletonbandorchestra.org/pepband 5. Concert Listening It's not too early to complete your one required concert listening and written paragraph for the semester!  UW-Madison has many concerts this time of year, mostly free.  https://www.music.wisc.edu/events/ 6.
