5/12/25 Band Updates

Hello band families,

1. Percussion Concert This Friday at 7:00pm

Come and support the MHS percussion students this Friday at 7:00pm!  (Note the time change from the original calendar)

2. Memorial Day Details

Click here for all the Memorial Day details!  

Reminder: all band students are expected to attend if possible.  We realize that some students may have family obligations on the holiday weekend.  Students who are unable to attend may complete a written makeup.  Instructions will be posted in Google Classroom at the end of this week.

3. School Instrument Check-In

Any school instruments you are no longer using should be turned in anytime.   All school instruments must be turned in by Memorial Day.  Leave them at school before you leave for the weekend or leave them after the ceremonies.

4. Summer Instrument Check-Out

Marching band instruments will be checked out to students at the Marching Band Welcome Day on 5/28.  Other instruments can be checked out as we approach the end of the year.

1. Spring Band Concerts Tomorrow & Wednesday!

• Tuesday, May 6th:

   Symphonic Winds, Chamber Winds, Senior Recognition

• Wednesday, May 7th:

   Cardinal Band, Concert Band, Chamber Winds

Report time: 6:50pm

Concert begins: 7:30pm

Reminder of the concert  dress code.

2. Please check fees on MyPaymentsPlus

Just a quick reminder to take care of all outstanding fees on MyPaymentsPlus.  There are still a handful of outstanding instrument rental and solo & ensemble fees.  Questions?  Email Mr. Rothacker about instrument rentals and Mr. Ver Voort about solo & ensemble fees.

3. Percussion Concert 5/16

Don't miss the MHS Percussion Concert on Friday, May 16th at 7:30pm in the PAC.  The advanced percussion ensemble will be showcasing a variety of solos and chamber works along with percussionists from several other classes.

4. Memorial Day

Just a quick reminder about our annual Memorial Day activities.  All band students should plan to attend from 8:00am until about 1:00pm on Memorial Day.  A makeup assignment will be available for those unable to attend due to family obligations.  More details to come!

4/18/25 Band Reminders

Hello band families,

Just a few reminders about upcoming events!

1. Jazz Tracs - Next Friday!

• Join us at 7:30pm on Friday, April 25th for the last jazz performance of the year!

2. Jazz Ensembles Still Rehearsing Monday

• Even though there is no school for students Monday, jazz ensembles will still have one final rehearsal ahead of the concert.  Normal rehearsal times.

4. State Solo & Ensemble - Next Saturday!

• If you registered for State Solo & Ensemble, make sure you check out the schedule and information available on the WSMA website.

• Please consider supporting our spring fundraiser by buying (or asking friends and neighbors to buy) a few K&A gift cards!
