MHS Bands Solo & Ensemble 1/28 -- Draft Schedule & Information


1. Accompanist Rehearsal Schedule

If you signed up for a school accompanist, please check this document for your assigned rehearsal times.


DO NOT write down your time or site number - those may change. Instead, check the following information:

  • Is your event listed?

  • Is all of the information correct?

  • Did we honor any emergency time requests you made?

Note that if you need to make a new time request, we will do our best to make it work but please realize it may not be possible.


3. Access to backing tracks and demos for Class B solos from the packets.


If you are performing with a recording, start practicing with it ASAP so you get used to how it goes. At Solo/Ensemble, you will need a device with a headphone plug in order to play your track. (Your school chromebook works great for this.)

 
 

12/28/22 Galin Education Event Reminder

Hello and Happy Holidays,


We wanted to briefly remind people about the upcoming event held at MHS on January 4th @ 7pm where Zach Galin, president of Galin Education will be talking about how band, orchestra, and choir can be used in the college admissions process. The event is designed for non-music and music majors in order to help students and families understand and optimize music classes and their time in high school to best prepare them for college. There will be opportunities for questions and a layout of how to prepare for modern college admissions. MHS music teachers will also be present to assist with any music specific questions. Students and families are strongly encouraged to attend and rsvp at this link.
