Hello everyone,

Firstly, we're so excited to have you in the marching band! We're looking forward to an incredible season and are so happy to have you be a part of it! If you're receiving this email, the email address you listed for contact works! This email will be sent to students and guardian emails listed so please check across the family if everyone got the email as this will be our primary form of announcements and large communications over the next few months. If you are an individual who does not check email, you will need to in high school.

A couple of reminders and ways to stay on top of everything:

1. Our booster website is an incredible resource and acts as a one stop shop for just about all information you might need. If you are a rising freshman, it's also a great idea to comb through the website and see what additional opportunities exist within the overall program. The marching band handbook will have the most up-to-date events listed with as much information as we have. I also generally post upcoming events at the bottom of these emails/updates.

2. The BAND App serves as our secondary information portal. Long story short, occasional reminders come through via email or things pertaining to everyone like information for competitions etc. The BAND App is more immediate reminders and information of practices/rehearsals.

There are several different groups for the BAND App so please read carefully:

General Marching Band Group (All members, meant for students)

General Marching Band Parent Group (All members, meant for families)

Colorguard Group (Colorguard members, in addition to the general group)

Colorguard Parent Group (Colorguard families, in addition to general group)

Percussion Group (Percussion members, in addition to general group)

3. Our Welcome Meeting will happen on 5/27/26 from 4-5:30pm for students. (If you're travelling from cross plains we know you might need a little extra time don't worry) This meeting is where you'll get your music, instruments (as applicable) and meet the rest of the band! It's a good opportunity to finally be in the same place as the rest of the band, meet your section, put a name to a face for the leadership team, and generally get excited about the year. We will play some of the music and do a general meet and greet. There is no expectation of perfection on your instrument, we'll all be sightreading! Just show up to get information, play, and meet everyone. If you are not planning on renting an instrument through the high school, please bring yours, something to hold your music in, and a water bottle. Weather permitting, we often go outside during this event!

4. In the coming weeks your section leaders will be reaching out to you just to get in contact, say hello, and/or answer any initial questions you may have. They will reach out either through the band app, or via cell number as applicable. Our leadership team is listed here. Congrats to this new year's team!

5. Please check the calendar/handbook and import the information into however you organize your life. The calendar will also be imported into the BAND App General Group soon.

More updates to come, and as always if you have any specific questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

If you are registered for State Solo & Ensemble, please keep reading!

1. The draft schedule is now available!

2. Make sure to check out the general info and the festival website

3.  Remember that you will need a judge's copy.  If you need to borrow a school copy, talk to Mr. V late next week.

4. Need to change your time?  You'll need to find someone in the same site to switch with, and you must verify the schedule with your accompanist.  (In other words, we recommend just making it work...)

5. Is Mr. Phil Marty your accompanist?  He will be at school all next week for rehearsals.  Sign up in the orchestra room.

Good luck at state!

Mr. V

The Middleton Band Boosters are pleased to announce that K&A Greenhouse $20 Gift Cards are available for sale via our Boosters website, just in time for Mother's Day and spring planting! $20 gift cards can be ordered on our website through May 6 and picked up at the band concerts on April 30 and May 1, 5, and 6. Cards will also be available for purchase with cash or via our website at each concert event.

This is a great fundraiser because you get to buy the gift cards at face value, but $5 from each card goes to the band.  If you have planting needs this spring, be sure to stock up while supplies last!

NOTE: Gift Cards will not be mailed or delivered to customers, in person pick up only please.

Thank you!
