Hello everyone, please read this entire email as it has new important information regarding band night at the home football game 9/12, night rehearsals, and ASR rehearsals.

Seniors

Seniors, please fill out the following form linked HERE. If it is not filled out by 11:59pm Sept 7th, your name will not be read. If you make a mistake in the submission, we will use the information from the most recent form submission. You will also need to fill out a card for your family in class Thursday and Friday. More instructions will be given in your band class.

Band Senior Night (Families)

The school will be emailing free tickets to all marching band families likely sometime next week. This is based off of the emails you sent during registration.

Families of seniors, you will meet on the north side of the bleachers at the end of the first quarter. You will be asked to line up alphabetically by your student's last name. You will watch the halftime show from the track. Following the performance, your student will find you, and your names will be announced over the microphone. There are no obligations after halftime.

Under the Lights Rehearsals

Rehearsals start immediately at 6pm-9pm. Please wear your section colors as much as possible! It helps the staff visualize sections on the field and makes it easier for us to assess areas we need to work on, change, etc. Please bring EVERYTHING you needed in band camp including drill charts, coordinate charts, instruments, etc.

ASR Rehearsals

We are working on a process to sign you up in ASR for rehearsals. If we cannot get that up and running in time, please sign up under Mr. Rothacker's 's ASR. At the very beginning of ASR, please head immediately to the field. You will need everything you would normally bring for rehearsals (water, drill, coordinate charts, instruments, marching shoes, music, etc.) IF there are any errors in the sign up process, attendance, etc., please attend rehearsal and we will submit corrections afterwards.

Football Game Itinerary

Call time is 5:30pm sharp. Immediately change into uniforms. At inspection, students will go to the north prairie to warm up. We will play pre-game stand tunes, the fight song, and the banner from the stands. We perform at halftime, followed by senior recognition. You'll get a third quarter break. and back in the stands for more pep band tunes and end the night with salvation before dismissing. Duration and general timing is dependent on the timing of the football game.

Hello MHS band students and parents,

Welcome to another year of Middleton High School Band!  September is fast approaching, and we're so excited to start another year of making music together.

1. Please BRING YOUR INSTRUMENT on the first  full day of school!  (9/2 or 9/3)

2. Welcome Night! August 25th, 6:30pm*

We hope to see all band parents (and especially 9th grade parents) at our welcome night on Monday, 8/25!  Come learn all about the band program and how you and your student can get involved in our diverse offerings.  6:30pm in the band room, with light refreshments served beforehand.

* For those interested, MHS Theatre is kicking off at 5:30pm; Orchestra and Choir at 6:30pm.

Click the link for the full calendar of events, and you can also subscribe to the google calendar on our  website.

4. Need a Locker or School Instrument?

All students should  fill out this form by the first day of school.  It asks whether you need a band locker and/or a school instrument.

The  rental fee for the 2025-26 school year is $125, and the instrument is yours for the school year.  Percussionists pay a $25 fee to use the instruments at school.  Lockers are free.  All fees go directly into the band department repair budget and are automatically waived if you qualify for free/reduced lunch.

The school mostly rents the largest instruments (think tubas and bassoons), but we also have a limited number of other instruments available primarily for students in need.

If we haven't seen you already during marching band: we're looking forward to getting back together in the fall!  Enjoy the remainder of your summer, and get ready for a fun and exciting year of music!
